Emil Vogel, President/CEO
Emil Vogel is the Senior Partner and founder of Tarnow Associates. Prior to
founding the firm, Mr. Vogel spent nine years with an executive search firm
in the New York metropolitan area conducting senior level search assignments.
Mr. Vogel began his business career in 1965 with a major consumer electronics
company where he held a variety of senior management positions in the human
resources area.
Since establishing Tarnow Associates, Mr. Vogel has successfully completed
search assignments for a diversity of organizations. Assignment levels have
ranged from president/CEO to manager within various industries. Clients have
included the Fortune 500, privately held businesses, start up ventures and
not-for-profit entities.
Emil has served and continues to serve on boards of community organizations,
not-for-profits and corporations. A graduate of the State University of New
York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration
and a minor in labor economics.
Joseph A. Aubuchon, Senior Vice President
Mr. Aubuchon has extensive international business experience having spent twelve
years with Sensient Technologies Corporation in a variety of locations and roles.
Most recently he was Sensient’s global Director of Human Resources for the Flavors
and Fragrances Group where he was responsible for over 2,000 employees in the Americas,
Europe and Asia. Mr. Aubuchon was a member of the senior management team that led
Sensient Flavors & Fragrances to record sales and operating results. In this
position he actively managed the recruiting for senior positions across the globe.
Prior to this role Mr. Aubuchon spent two years on an expatriate assignment in Europe as
Managing Director of businesses in both the flavors and colors groups where he gained
valuable experience in international business management. Mr. Aubuchon joined Sensient
as Internal Audit Manager and quickly became the Director of Internal Audit. He spent
four years in this role and was responsible for the audits of all Sensient locations
worldwide, including the introduction of a global Standards of Conduct program.
Mr. Aubuchon holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accountancy from the University
of Notre Dame and earned his CPA from the state of Illinois. He began his career as an
auditor with Ernst & Young before joining the internal audit department at Dean Foods
Corporation, where he led audits of Dean’s US and international locations for the dairy,
vegetable and specialty products businesses.
William A. Myers, Senior Vice President
After a well recognized career in Human Resources, Strategy and Development
with International Flavors and Fragrances and the Union Carbide Corporation,
Bill joined the firm in 1996. At IFF, Mr. Myers was Corporate Vice President
and Director of Human Resources where he was responsible for the Worldwide
Human Resource function. His experience prior to IFF was with the Linde
Division of Union Carbide where he was based in New York State and New Jersey.
Mr. Myers is past President of the North Jersey Compensation Association. He
is also Past President and a Board member of the International Institute of
the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). He was a member and
committee head of the New Jersey Council of Senior Human Resource Executives.
He has been an Adjunct Lecturer at Rutgers University and presented programs
at numerous human resource functions and conferences throughout the United
States and Europe. Mr. Myers has been active in the United Fund, Literacy
Volunteers of America and mentoring programs for young adults.
Mr. Myers is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Business Administration and Economics. Graduate studies
were completed at The State University of New York at Buffalo and Rutgers
University.
Karen Gordon, Vice President
Karen Gordon initially joined Tarnow Associates in 1988 to enhance the
recruitment and business development functions. She spent several years
prior to that as an Associate and Consultant with a recruitment firm and
had prior experience in management at Burdines, a retail chain in Florida.
In 1992 Ms. Gordon became Director, Executive Search Center for the Girl
Scouts of the U.S.A. Ms. Gordon initiated an in-house search firm at
National Headquarters. She was responsible for identifying, recruiting and
referring candidates for CEO/Executive Director positions for Girl Scout
Councils across the U.S.A. Ms. Gordon returned to Tarnow in 1998. Her prior
experience in executive search and corporate/not-for-profit staffing gave her
the opportunity to successfully complete assignments for various corporations
in a broad range of positions.
Ms. Gordon holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance Psychology from
Nova University in Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor
of Science in Business, from Rider University in New Jersey.
Donna Fox, Vice President & Director of Research
Ms. Fox has been associated with Tarnow Associates since 1985. She is
responsible for research and candidate development and has hired, trained and
supervised support staff. She also created and maintains the database. Ms.
Fox oversees the recruiting for functions within consumer products, financial
services, advanced technology, manufacturing not-for-profit, and health/human
services.
Ms. Fox strategizes the research approach, develops target lists, identifies
candidates, conducts preliminary interviews, makes presentations and works
closely with clients. Her prior experience includes two and one half years as
a Consultant with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG Peat Marwick) and as a
Senior Research Associate with a multi-office, international search firm.
There she supported the national not-for-profit practice for three years.
Donna Fox graduated from the University of Dallas with a Masters Degree in
Business Administration and from Colby Sawyer College with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Business Administration.
